Hi! Welcome to the website of author Dave Webb. That's me! I wrote all three Slinky Inkermann books, which are humorous chapter books for children ages 8-12. Slinky is an 11-year-old boy who has a lot of funny friends and even funnier adventures.
Books in the Slinky Inkermann Series
Slinky Inkermann and the Crazy Contest - The first book in the series in which Slinky must choose which of his two wacky friends is funnier. They are having a contest and he must be the judge, but he doesn't like having to pick one friend over another. The ending is hilarious!
Slinky Inkermann's Superfreaky Summer - The second book begins with the boys having a sleepover party. Slinky's friend Kevin ends up sleepwalking - in his underwear! The boys make a startling discovery near a cemetery, and a mystery keeps their minds occupied during their summer before going to middle school.
Slinky Inkermann's Middle School Mania - The last book in the trilogy finds Slinky finally making it to middle school, with harder classes and many new people to meet. Somehow Slinky's picture ends up in the sixth-grade math textbook, and everyone convinces him to run for class president. There is another mystery, this time at the school, while Slinky's funny friends are at it again.

It's fun being an author!
I love to travel to new schools and speak to kids about my books. I usually end my visit by reading them a chapter out loud, leaving everyone in stitches. One of my favorite sounds is kids laughing!

I also appear every November at the Family Reading Festival held at the Fairlane Village Mall in Pottsville, PA. This year it will be on Saturday, November 7 from 11 to 3 PM and will feature many different authors in the center of the mall. It's the best reading event for kids I've seen!

In fact, the first two editions of the Crazy Contest book are now out of print. A revised edtion of that book will be available in the fall of 2007.
Other books I helped write were books for teachers published by The Mailbox. They include Contracts for Independent Readers, 730 Journal Prompts, and Social Studies: 23 Ready-To-Go Lesson Plans. These books are available at teacher stores across the country.
